Have you ever found yourself at a concert, on the beach or some other crowded place, struggling to find your friends? PointMeOut is the answer to your problem! If both you and your friends use the app, you will be able to see each others location, either on a map or using the clever Augmented Reality (AR) layer on top of the camera view. You have full control over whom can see your position and inside which radius to see your friends. You also choose your desired intervals for retrieving and sharing positions. Note that PointMeOut will send all the phone numbers (only phone numbers, no names) in your phone book to the server, to be able to match you up with your friends. The phone numbers will only be used for matching and will not be shared with any third party! Version 1.1 adds the possibility to keep the GPS active in the background for 15 minutes after you press the Sleep/Wake button or switch to another app. Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
